During our planned datacenter maintenance on Saturday, 3/13/21, at approximately 9:30 pm Eastern (6:30 pm Pacific), a system move created a disruption in the auto license removal reconciliation process that created an interruption in Microsoft 365 service for some users. Our engineering team quickly diagnosed the issue and moved to restore affected users for the tenants affected by this interruption. Restoration was complete in full by 1:30 am Eastern. This interruption did not result in any data loss. However, emails that were sent to these users during this period of time may have resulted in a bounce. To prevent this issue from reoccurring in future datacenter maintenance periods, the reconciliation process has been amended to better handle possible interruptions in database access.
